A Cabool man reports he fired a gun at trespassers.

A Texas County sheriff’s Department officer reported that just after midnight on Friday he had been dispatched to a Beeler Road residence at Cabool regarding a trespassing call.

The 66-year-old man living there stated that he had seen two subjects in a shed near his house and that he had shot his .22-caliber magnum at the building. He also said he had seen a white car at the end of his driveway and that the subjects had left the scene on a red ATV. The man said that he believed the alleged trespassers were his neighbors, a 64-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man.

The investigating officer reported that he was unable to find footprints or other evidence that anyone had been in the shed. He made contact with the neighbor man who stated he had an ATV, but that it was green.

The officer stated that he observed a white car in the driveway, but it had dew on its hood and didn’t appear to have been recently moved.

The following are other matters dealt with last week by the sheriff’s department.
