U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, R-Cape Girardeau, is the guest speaker at noon Friday for the Houston Lions Club.
She will address the nation’s debt crisis and fiscal condition as well as other recent issues debated in Congress.
“Small business, not government, drives growth in the American economy, and no one knows that better than the leaders of the Houston Lions Club. These are challenging times for working families, and the economic climate reflects the urgency needed to get our government’s spending and borrowing under control, as well as to create a positive environment for economic growth,” Emerson said. “I’m looking forward to a strong discussion on Friday in Houston.”
