Texas County

History was made last Monday in the Texas County recorder’s office with its first ever paperless, electronic recording.

“Only a handful of Missouri counties are so technologically up-to-date,” said Stacy Atkison, senior account manager for Mobilis Technologies LLC.

Mobilis was requested by the Recorders Association of Missouri to develop the software and the “e-portal” for electronic recording now used by Texas County.

“Recorder Susan Warkentin can now provide even better service and save county taxpayers, title companies, banks and law offices mailing and travel costs by reducing recording time to nearly zero with this new software,” Atkison said. “This service is provided at no expense to taxpayers, as users pay for all fees related to e-recording.”

“This doesn’t change or end the traditional recording process,” Warkentin said. “You can still mail or walk-in your documents. This is simply one more recording option, and I am honored to be here for ‘the next chapter’ in ever more efficient and effective service to Texas County and its citizens.”
