Joyce Florence Barton, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at her niece’s home in Luebbering.
She was born July 2, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of Morris Daughlty and Florence Adams. She and Herbert Barton were married July 10, 1958 in Houston.
She grew up in Detroit, Mich. She traveled all over the United States with her husband as he served in the Air Force.
She regularly attended St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Houston. She loved gardening, fishing, traveling, shopping and cats. She enjoyed cooking, especially fried chicken and catfish.
She was preceded in death by her, husband Herbert Barton; a daughter, Susan Kimberly Barton; a son, Timothy James Barton; her parents; and a brother, James Adams.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Services were Saturday, Aug. 13, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in McMahan Cemetery.
