Louise Marion Olson, 87, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Kabul Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 8, 1923, south of Regent, N.D., daughter of Christ and Marie Ness Krogh. She and Lester “Bud” Olson were married Oct. 3, 1943.

She completed the eight-year education program at the rural school Alden #2 near her home.

She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking goodies for her family and friends. She spent many hours tending her flower and vegetable gardens.

Later in life, she enjoyed playing cards, walking to the store and post office and visiting with friends along the way.

Due to health issues, she moved to Missouri in September 2003 to be near her son.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Regent, N.D. She was baptized at the Richland Lutheran Church and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church, formerly known as English Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud; a son, Curtis; a sister, Margie Krug; and a brother, Clarence Krogh.

Survivors include three children, Richard Olson of Lochbuie, Colo., Wes Olson of Summersville and Charlene Lantz Bergerson of Mott, N.D.; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Orlean Rysavy of Portland, Ore., and Joyce Gatzke of Regent, N.D.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were Monday, Aug. 8, in Mott, N.D. Burial was in Regent Cemetery in Regent, N.D. Local arrangements were under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.
