As members of U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill’s staff travel throughout the state to talk with Missourians, representatives will be at Houston City Hall from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday to talk with local residents.
McCaskill’s staff host “Kitchen Table Talks” statewide to reach out to constituents, address their questions and concerns, and provide Missourians with the resources necessary to receive assistance from a federal agency. Staff report all feedback they receive directly to McCaskill.
“It’s important that I hear what Missourians think about the issues affecting our state,” McCaskill said. “Good ideas come from real people, not lobbyists. I want people to know that I am always asking myself ‘Is this a good idea for Missouri.’ Hearing common-sense feedback from Missourians is the key to helping me answer this question.”
The talks also serve, in part, to inform area residents of the services that are available to them when they contact one of her regional offices. McCaskill’s staff can assist constituents on a range of federal government issues.
McCaskill has five offices throughout Missouri, in Cape Girardeau, Columbia, Kansas City, Springfield and St. Louis.
