A Missouri State Highway Patrol car was struck after another vehicle rolled into it.

No one was injured when a drunk driver didn’t put his vehicle in park and it struck a Missouri State Highway Patrol car late Friday night, authorities said.

Sgt. George Falterman made a stop at about 10:56 to pull over a 1991 Chevrolet S10 pickup operated by William R. Hawkins, 54, of Licking. Hawkins failed to put the vehicle into park and it backed into Falterman’s 2011 patrol car on Highway 17 south of Highway 137, said Tpr. Terry Nelson, who investigated the accident.

Damage to the patrol car was estimated at $1,000.

Hawkins was taken to the Texas County Jail and charged with DWI, first; and improper backing.
