A Licking woman was injured Wednesday morning, June 27, in an Ozark County crash.

Separate accidents west of Houston on Wednesday evening had emergency personnel scrambling.

Four persons were hurt near Highways AA and 17 when their 2002 Dodge Stratus ran off the roadway, struck a fence and overturned before catching fire, authorities said.

Carl E. Hutsell, 16, of Houston, was the driver of the vehicle.

He and three passengers were taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. They were: Cassie L. Duncan, 16, of Houston; Chance A. Hebblethwaite, 16, of Houston; and Mahala K. Suter, 16, of Wheatland.

Tpr. Logan Elliott said the vehicle was totaled. All were wearing seat belts.

Roby and Houston Rural Fire Departments were dispatched, as well as the Texas County Rescue Squad.

As some emergency responders were traveling to the wreck another accident occurred at Highways 17 and 38.

Chad W. Schneider, 25, of Houston, was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Tpr. Marty Wiseman said a vehicle pulled off the roadway to yield to an emergency vehicle, and the motorcyclist, Schneider, failed to stop and struck the rear of the vehicle in front of him.

The 2008 Honda sustained moderate damage, Wiseman said.

Updated at 4:22 p.m. Aug, 4, 2011, to reflect Hutsell’s age at 16 – which was incorrect on the patrol’s online report.
