The 2011 Texas County Fair concluded a three-day run Saturday with the junior livestock sale and finals of the demolition derby.
The annual event was hosted by the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Texas County Fair Board sponsored a livestock competition at its pavilion. Other exhibits are situated on the fairgrounds.
The fair began Thursday night with Family Fun Night and Gospel Night. The demolition derby hosted the first of two runs on Friday.
A driver was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital following Friday’s derby with a medical ailment.
On Wednesday, horticulture, field crops, agricultural mechanics, home economics and junior fair checked in at the community building. By noon Thursday, dairy, beef, swine, sheep, goats, rabbits and poultry were in place. Judging of goats and sheep was Thursday evening.
The community building on the chamber fairgrounds on North U.S. 63 featured a variety of exhibits, including collectibles from Debo McKinney.
