Six persons face charges in the theft of copper wire.

Texas County Sheriff’s Department officers were involved in numerous investigations of reported theft or burglary during the last week.

In one case, a 53-year-old Huggins man reported the theft of numerous items from his Highway M residence, including copper wire valued at $2,500.

The man told an investigating officer that the stolen items also included a set of 15-inch aluminum alloy wheels valued at $600, along with several items of electronics, some clothing, tools, an air conditioner, an urn with dog ashes in it and two boxes containing elephant figurines.

The man told the officer he suspected a 43-year-old Springfield man might have been responsible. The suspect was being sought for questioning.
