The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce is planning a fall festival and Civil War Encampment Saturday, Oct. 15, at its fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.
A schedule of demonstrations planned by the Missouri Civil War Reenactment Association was released this week:
•10 a.m. – Women of the Civil War.
•11 a.m. – Civil War History of Texas County and Missouri.
•1 p.m. – Military Drills.
•3 p.m. – Court Marshaling of an Army Deserter.
In connection with the festival, there will a hay maze, vendors and concessions.
A series of pageants also are planned at the community building.
At 5 p.m., the Texas County Fair Board will host an auction to raise funds to improve and add to its pavilion.
