Democrats announced a rally for Texas County in the fall.

Texas County Democrat Club met Aug. 18 at El Imperial Restaurant in Cabool. The meeting was opened by President Jim Gagen with the pledge of allegiance and prayer by the Rev. Maggie Kramer.

The annual fall meeting/rally date has been changed to one week earlier due to the start of deer season. The date is now 6 p.m. Nov. 5 at the big dining hall of the Golden Hills Resort, Raymondville.

Tickets will be $20 per person, and the meal will be grilled pork chops and/or beef brisket with sides, dessert and drink. Officeholders will be donating $40 gas cards as raffle prizes with one raffle ticket included with each meal ticket purchase. Letters will be sent to Democrat officeholders of state and U.S. regarding the speaking opportunity. The theme of the meeting will be “Democrats Celebrate Agriculture.”

The next meeting is Sept. 15 at the same place, El Imperial Restaurant, in Cabool. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m.; meeting will start at 7.

Members are urged to attend and interested Democrats are always welcome.
