The Houston Middle School volleyball teams are still looking for their first victories of the new season.
Mountain Grove swept Houston on Tuesday. The seventh grade Lady Tigers lost 25-18, 25-12 and the eighth grade was defeated 25-12, 25-20.
“Both of our teams had a rough start,” Houston coach Jodie Tottingham said. “It just took us too long to pull it together. We are getting better with each game.”
The seventh grade lost its season opener 25-11, 25-9 to Mountain View on Sept. 12. The following night, Willow Springs defeated Houston 25-12, 25-19.
The eighth grade was beaten 25-9, 25-5 by Mountain View in the season opener and lost 25-14, 28-26 to Willow Springs.
“We played a lot better against Willow Springs,” Tottingham said. “Our nerves weren’t as bad. We played as a team.”
