Military veteran

John T. Moore Sr., 89, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at Christian Healthcare South in Lebanon.

He was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Fayetteville, Ga., son of Walter and Edith Gossett Moore. He and Geneva Walker were married March 31, 1956. She died in 1992. He then married Lossie Ehrhardt on May 17, 1997.

He served in the Army and fought in World War II and the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Licking VFW Post 6337.

He enjoyed reading, singing, playing harmonica and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva; a brother, George Moore; a sister, Nora Moore; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Lossie of Thayer; 56 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and many other family members.

Services were Friday, September 9, with Pastor Orval Wayne Robbins officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Craddock Cemetery.
