Margaret Lucille Weaver McAlister, 78, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011.
She was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Willow Springs, daughter of Bryan Weaver and Hazel Lucille Busby Weaver. She and Harold “Hank” Eugene Weaver were married May 3, 1947. After he died, she married Clarence McAlister. They later divorced.
She was employed at Angelica Uniform Factory before attending Southwest Missouri State University, where she obtained her teaching degree. She worked many years at Summersville R-II Schools as a teacher and a librarian. She also taught in the Mountain View Birch Tree School District.
She was a member at Midvale Church before attending 65 Full Gospel Church in Crane with her daughter, Tina.
She loved doing crafts and visiting with family and friends. She was an avid traveler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hank; her parents; three grandsons; a stepdaughter, Pam Tune; and two brothers, Gene Weaver and Alva Leon Weaver.
Survivors include three daughters, Janice Clark of Summersville, Melany Kramer of Branson and Tina Lane of Crane; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Roberts of Mulberry, Fla.; a brother, William Clifton of Cedar Hill; three stepchildren, John McAlister, Tami Schulte and Lisa Haffner; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Emmett Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
