A walk Sunday, Sept. 25, in Houston will benefit area food pantries.
Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Houston Senior Center on Grand Avenue. The walk starts at 2 p.m. There will be one- or three-mile routes.
Organizers urge participants to seek donations from friends and family and bring them the day of the walk.
Donations should be made out to CFOO and mailed to Alice Wells, 805 Hawthorn, Houston, Mo. 65483. They will go to local food pantries, such as the Texas County Food Pantry in Houston and United Community Help Center in Licking that have food commodity programs that serve 600 families every month.
