Houston High School and Houston Alumni Association plan homecoming events for October. Classes also are planning reunions.

Red and black. Those will be the predominant colors as two organizations – Houston High School and the Houston Alumni Association – hold homecoming activities Friday and Saturday in Houston.

A Houston Alumni Association breakfast runs from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Houston Senior Center on Grand Avenue.

From 10 a.m. to noon, the Houston Education Foundation will grill hamburgers at Houston Walmart Supercenter on South Sam Houston Blvd. Piney River Brewing Co. at Bucyrus will host a grilling station from noon to 5 p.m.

The association will hold a mixer from 1 to 5 p.m. at Hiett Gymnasium with a short program at 3 p.m. Classes graduating in “1” and “6” will be honored. Some classes are planning class reunions.

On Sunday, the Houston Lions Club will hold a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the community building at the chamber grounds on North U.S. 63.
