The boys’ and girls’ basketball programs at Houston High School are seeking financial support from the public to meet equipment needs.

For a minimum donation of $25, individuals or businesses can have their names listed on the Tiger Backboard Team Board on the south wall of Hiett Gymnasium. Names will be listed in three-inch lettering and remain on the board for one year.

HHS girls’ basketball coach Brent Kell said his team hopes to purchase travel bags with fund received. The boys, under the direction of recently hired coach Tom Brown, will buy travel sweat suits.

“The programs have many uses for money raised by this means of support,” Kell said. “The school does meet some of our equipment and supply needs, but unfortunately cannot meet all the needs.”

Those wishing to lend support should send a check of $25 or more to the attention of backboard boosters at Houston High School, 423 W. Pine, Houston, Mo., 65483. Checks should be made to Houston Schools.

Included with the check should be the name of the individuals — John & Jane Doe — or business to be listed on the board.

“The coaching staff and players appreciate the support we already receive from our community,” Kell said. “We also want you to know that through the high and low points, we strive daily for a standard that makes you, our fans, proud.”

Anyone with questions should contact Kell or Brown at 417-967-3024 ext. 451.
