The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Texas County Fall Derby Saturday at its fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.
The event begins at 7 p.m. with drivers hoping to operate the last vehicle still running after the polish is demolished.
There are four classes: pure stock, modified stock, pickup and powder puff. The total payout is more than $3,000, organizers said.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12; and free for those 5 and under. A pit pass is $15.
