Clora Mable Camp, 102, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011.
She was born Oct. 1, 1909, near Mountain View, daughter of Thomas and Salle Harris Wilbanks. She and Raymond Swan were married Nov. 8, 1938. He died in a car accident Dec. 24 1943. Nearly five years later, she married James Camp.
After finishing high school, she worked as a waitress in Mountain View. She then moved to the Kansas City area, where she worked as a nanny, at a dress factory and at a soldier’s home near Leavenworth, Kan.
She and her husband, James, traveled together and retired in Apache Junction, Ariz. Following his death, she moved back to Missouri in 2000 to live with her nephew, James Burger. After complications from a fall, she spent her remaining years as a resident of Houston House.
No services are planned. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
