Edgar O. Dixon, 77, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, in Houston.
He was born Sept. 14, 1934, son of Tilford and Ada Crowley Dixon. He and Vera Sillyman were married Sept. 14, 1953. He and Lucille Campbell were married Nov. 13, 1976. She died June 5, 1999.
He spent his early life in the Ozark community. He moved with his family to Iowa in 1963 to work as a farmer. He also spent many years as a mechanic maintenance technician in several factories. Before retiring, he worked as a manager for Merritt Mobile Home Park in Eldora, Iowa.
He moved back to Houston in 2009 to be closer to his family.
He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He was also a fan of NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Dixon; and his wife, Lucille.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Dixon Birkhead of Nashville, Tenn.; a son, Eddie Joe Dixon of Houston; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Dixon; and a brother, Ronnie of Houston.
Services were Tuesday Oct. 25, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Wesley Wallace officiating. The body was cremated and inurnment will be at a later date.
