Amy Lou Leggett, 38, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at St. John’s Regional Health Center.
She was born Aug. 26, 1973, in Houston, daughter of Dewey Barton and Lavena Zumwalt Barton-Mitchell. She and William “Roger” Leggett were married Sept. 3, 1994, in Raymondville.
She grew up and attended school in Raymondville and Houston. She graduated from Houston High School in 1992. She and her family made their home in Springdale, Ark., for several years before moving back to the Houston area in 2008.
She was an assistant manager for Springdale Motel as long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lavena Mitchell on Aug. 5, 2008.
Survivors include her husband, William “Roger” Leggett of the home; two children, Mary Brittany Nicole Leggett and Lyndle Quinton Tyler Leggett of the home; two stepchildren, Lacey Michael of Springfield and Clifford Ray Blackwell of Lindale, Texas; her father, Dewey Q. Barton Sr. of Junction City, Kan.; a brother, Dewey Q. Barton Jr. of Kansas; and several other family members and friends.
Services were Monday, Nov. 21, at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
