The Houston eighth-grade girls outscored Licking 10-2 in the fourth quarter Monday en route to a 30-22 victory.

Makayla Koch and Shelby Cremer scored eight points apiece for the Lady Tigers (6-1). Chloe Morning added seven points.

“The kids don’t always play smart, but they always play hard,” Houston coach John Jordan said. “This was a good Licking team and a good win for us.”

SEVENTH GIRLS: The Lady Tigers improved to 4-2 with a 34-20 victory Monday against Licking.

Jaydin Ramsey led Houston with 12 points. Alexis Dixon scored eight and Alyssa Hayes had six.

The Lady Tigers raced ahead 10-3 in the opening quarter. After their advantage was trimmed to three at the half, Houston outscored Licking 20-9 the rest of the way.

“We got ourselves in a little foul trouble throughout the game,” Jordan said. “We switched to a trapping zone in the second half and it caused Licking a lot of problems.
