A Houston organization will sponsor a run Saturday to benefit the foundation.
Houston Community Foundation will sponsor a 5K Fun Run at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. Registration begins at 8 a.m. from Emmett Kelly Park. A youth race starts at 9:30 a.m. T-shirts and prizes, as well as medals will be awarded. Trophies go to the top female and male runner.
The foundation invests donations and distributes earnings to local non-profits and other organizations in the community. The principal grows enabling the foundation to continue helping the Houston area for years to come.
A raffle for a Nook e-reader also is planned. It is donated by Justin Shelby, State Farm agent. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10.
