Houston’s sales tax revenue was up in the latest monthly distribution period, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.
The total from a one-cent sales tax was $45,522, up $4,197 from the same period a year ago. For the year, $531,300 has been collected. That’s up $6,726 or 1.3 percent from a year ago.
The city also has two quarter-cent sales taxes for street, sidewalks and utility work. Each contributed $10,836. An eighth-cent sales tax goes toward debt retirement on a fire truck. That totaled $5,418.
