One of the top bands in Christian rock music will make a tour stop in early February in Houston.
Fireflight will be performing Saturday, Feb. 11, alongside Rapture Ruckus and two other artists inside Hiett Gymnasium on the Houston High School campus. Ticket prices are just $10 in advance or $15 at the door — making it an affordable evening for the family-friendly event. Groups of 20 or more can purchase advance tickets for $9.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Since debuting in 2006, Fireflight has had multiple No. 1 singles and been consistently at the top of the Christian music charts. The track “Unbreakable” from their second album was used by NBC, ESPN Winter X Games and ABC. The music video received more than one million hits on YouTube and is confirmed as a future download on the wildly popular Rock Band video game.
Fireflight’s third project, For Those Who Wait, features the hard-rocking urgency and emotion displayed in “Desperate” and the thick groove of “For Those Who Wait.”
“We’re thrilled to bring such a big name in Christian music to our town,” said Jeff McNiell, one of the event organizers. “No music act this popular or nationally recognized has ever been in Houston.
“I’ve paid $30-plus and driven two hours to see Fireflight in concert. To bring them to our community for such a low ticket price is a blessing. We hope everyone in the region takes advantage of this unique opportunity.”
Also performing at the concert will be Rapture Ruckus, a popular group from New Zealand which recently signed with BEC Recordings and released a self-title debut in the United States. Two more artists will be added to the lineup as well.
