The Houston Middle School girls’ basketball teams both cruised to easy wins Thursday night against Cabool.

The seventh grade won 39-11 and the eighth grade was victorious 31-15.

“During practice, we stress getting the ball up the floor quickly on defensive rebounds or turnovers,” Lady Tigers coach John Jordan said. “Both groups keep getting better running the lanes and passing the ball ahead. They’ve shown they are unselfish and will do what it takes to win.”

Abby Casper led the seventh grade with 13 points. Alyssa Hayes, Jaydin Ramsey, Alexis Dixon and Megan Bell scored six pointa apiece.

The Lady Tigers led 7-0 after the opening quarter before a 14-3 second quarter gave them an 18-point halftime advantage.

Sarah Kelley scored 13 for the eighth grade girls, who led by 10 after the opening quarter and 18 at the half. Makayla Koch added 10 points.
