Sales tax revenue was down in Houston during the latest monthly report, the Missouri Department of Revenue reports. 

Sales tax collections by merchants in Houston were up slightly during the latest monthly distribution, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Retailers collected $58,988 from a one-cent sales tax, according to a November report. That’s up $699 from a year ago. For the year, $590,287 has been collected. That’s up about 1.3 percent from the same period a year ago.

Two quarter-cent sales taxes earmarked for street, sidewalk and utility work totaled about $14,562 each. Both have netted about $142,047 each.

An eighth-cent sales tax for debt repayment on a fire truck totaled $7,281 for the month.
