Harold Steven “Steve” Booker, 59, died Monday Dec. 19, 2011, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Georgia after a long battle with Frontal Lobe Aphasia, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.
He served in the Army from 1971 to 1991, retiring as a nurse anesthetist. He was a lieutenant colonel.
He was a 1971 graduate of Houston High School. He was a member of Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church, where he has served as a deacon since 1993.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Booker.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Leasha Barnes Booker of Statesboro, Ga.; a daughter, Tara Booker Williford of Statesboro, Ga.; a son, Tiger Booker of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren; his mother, Irma Booker Haney of Houston; and a brother, Stan Booker of Marietta, Ga.
Memorial services were Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church.
