The Houston seventh-grade girls’ basketball team held a pair of opponents to single digits to advance to the finals of the Liberty Tournament.
The Lady Tigers cruised past Thayer 31-8 in Monday’s opening game and downed Liberty 21-9 on Tuesday.
The championship game is today.
Jaydin Ramsey led Houston with seven points against Liberty. Abby Casper scored nine against Thayer.
EIGHTH-GRADE GIRLS: Autumn Walker scored 10 points and Sarah Kelley had nine in Houston’s 25-7 victory Tuesday against Liberty.
The Lady Tigers bounced back from their 28-27 loss Monday to Thayer in the opening round. Walker led the Lady Tigers with 10 points.
EIGHTH-GRADE BOYS: Skylur Malam, Nathan Poynter and Keegan Spurlin scored eight points apiece in the Tigers’ 39-21 victory Monday against Cabool.
On Thursday, Poynter scored 10 points to lead Houston past Salem 33-28.
Stetson Welch and Spurlin scored eight points each for the Tigers, who outscored Salem 11-6 in the fourth.
SEVENTH-GRADE BOYS: Connor Clifton had six points in the Tigers’ 44-18 loss Monday to Cabool.
