A Licking woman is charged with an assault related to a child custody case, authorities said.

A Houston woman is charged with assault following attacks on her caregivers.

Barbara J. Smith, 21, of 105 Sugar Maple Drive in Houston, was issued a citation for third-degree assault after reportedly being involved in separate incidents with her two in-home caregivers.

At about 7:10 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the location after a 30-year-old female caretaker reported that Smith had slammed her head into the frame of a bedroom door.

The caregiver stated that the assault took place after Smith became angry when she discovered that someone drank her last Kool-Aid.

The victim told the officer her head and wrist hurt, and she was transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital.

About 50 minutes later, the same officer was dispatched back to the same residence after a 52-year-old female caretaker reported that Smith had pulled her hair and struck her in the forehead.

This time the caretaker stated that Smith had become angry while taking down the Christmas tree.

After being arrested, Smith was taken to the Texas County Jail for a 24-hour hold period.

Smith’s caregivers contacted Wentzville Hospital, which took her into custody when she was released.
