Filings continue for offices that will be filled in April.

Filings close Jan. 17 for city, school, water district and hospital boards.

Here is a roundup on filings:

Seeking the Houston Ward II seat are Phil Meyer and Sheila Walker. The current seat is held by Walker’s mother, Joyce Campbell, who does not plan to seek re-election.

Incumbents Joe Honeycutt, Ward I; and Don Romines, Ward III, also have filed.

The field at Houston School District includes: incumbent Steve Pounds, Tadd McCloud, James Bathon, Jim Root and Troy “Butch” Castleman for two available positions. Slots held by Pounds and Kathy Hutcheson expire.

Two persons have filed for six slots on the Success School board. They are: Jason Burch and Ross Olson. Open on the board are two three-year terms, two two-year terms and two one-year terms.

Paul Murray has filed for a one-year term at Raymondville. Justin Dixon and Leland Johnston are seeking three-year terms. Loretta Hinton and Murray are the incumbents.

Penny Morrison has filed for re-election to the Plato School District. The other incumbent is Mike Friend.
