Jay Andy Johnson, 45, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, in Springfield.
He was born Nov. 28, 1966, in Houston, son of James Andy and Ruth Ann Tilley Johnson.
He grew up in Plato and after graduation from Plato High School, completed Heavy Equipment School in Harrison, Ark. He operated heavy equipment on road jobs in Springfield, Branson and Kansas. The last few years, he was painting and restoring tractors with his dad. He worked for a painting contractor on some of the finer homes in Springfield and also did landscaping and fencing.
He loved creating artwork and writing.
He grew up in the Christian Church and accepted the Lord at the age of 10. He had a special friend in his dog, “Billy.”
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Survivors include his parents, Andy and Ruth Ann Johnson of Rogersville; a sister, Jana Noble of Springfield; a grandmother, Frances Johnson of Lebanon; four aunts; an uncle; eight cousins; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Services were Saturday, Jan. 14, at Roby Christian Church with the Rev. Ronald Iwasko officiating. Burial was in Lynch Cemetery.
