Authorities are seeking charges after the disappearance of about 40 items from an Arroll cabin.

County authorities are investigating a burglary at an Arroll cabin.

An officer reported that on Dec. 22 he had responded to a Summersville residence where police were holding an 18-year-old Summersville man who had confessed to being in possession of numerous items stolen from a cabin near Arroll.

A 62-year-old St. Charles man and a 56-year-old Summersville man who are co-owners of the cabin stated that about 40 items (of unreported value) had been stolen, including several large appliances, tools, hunting gear, clothing, liquor and many other household items.

The suspect told the investigating deputy that he had entered the cabin on two occasions and removed property, each time being accompanied by two other people, whom he refused to identify.

He was taken to the Texas County Jail, and a probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecuting attorney seeking charges of second-degree burglary (two counts), stealing and property damage.
