A Houston man was cited for allowing an animal to run at large after a female jogger sustained injuries to her leg when she was bitten by a dog Jan. 11.
The Houston Police Department issued the citation to Terry L. McConnaughhay Jr., 26, of 304 Ozark St. in Houston, after a dog he owns reportedly ran after the 34-year-old woman and attacked her as she jogged past his residence.
The officer involved reported that while traveling in his patrol car on Frederick Street at about 5:10, a vehicle flashed its headlights in an apparent attempt to gain his attention.
The officer made contact with the vehicle’s occupants, and a passenger indicated she had been attacked and bitten by a large black and tan dog while jogging on Ozark Street. The woman stated she was going to the hospital emergency room to have the bite looked at, but before she did she showed the officer which residence the dog had come from.
