The Houston school board set the 2012 graduation date at Monday’s meeting.
This year’s ceremony will be 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the high school football field. The event will be held inside Hiett Gymnasium in the case of inclement weather.
Also at the meeting, board members:
–Extended a two-year photography contract to Joe Ward Photography.
–Received a report regarding the A+ program. The board directed the high school administrators to investigate options for increasing student participation in the program.
–Noted their appreciation for the inclusion of classroom activities in the reports from the building administrators.
–Went into closed session. Minutes will be made available after 72 hours in accordance with the sunshine law, according to Scott Dill, acting superintendent.
Board members present at the meeting were Kathleen Hutcheson, Doug Castleman, Sharon Horbyk, Sam Kelley and Tom Dunn.
