A national organization will be in Houston this week in search of antiques, collectibles, precious metals and coins.
The Ohio Valley Refinery & Roadshow will be inside the community building at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds beginning Tuesday through Saturday.
Experts from the organization will be meeting with local residents as they look for anything rare or interesting that could potentially be something the group’s collectors are searching for. The group said it has more than $300,000 set aside to buy items during the week.
Items of interest include vintage guitars, pocket watches, wristwatches, old paper money, antique toys and war memorabilia. The group will also accept scrap jewelry, dental gold, sterling silverware, sterling silver tea sets, silver dollars, pre-1970 coins, industrial scrap and all forms of platinum.
Times are 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 217-787-7767.
