Ruth Baker

Ruth Erma Dean Baker, 58, died Feb. 7, 2012, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 7, 1953, in Salem, daughter of Robert and Anita Conaway. She married Doyle Lay and later married Bobby Baker.

She enjoyed her family, children and her grandbabies. She loved planting flowers, gardening and volunteering at the center in Licking. She loved to help the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Doyle Lay Jr.; five brothers, Bob, Eck, Hollie, Harv and Ervin Conaway; and a sister, Pearl Martin.

Survivors include seven children, Shoanna Neal, Carolyn Smith, Teressa Brink, Robert Lay, Christopher Baker, Christina Baker, Stephanie Baker; two step-children, Bobby Baker Jr. and Melissa Stark; three sisters, Virginia Skaggs, Joann Conaway and Bonnie Warren; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Friday, Feb. 8, at Boone Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Joshua Hartley officiating. Burial was in Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
