Wilma Elois Neugebauer, 85, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Honey Grove, Texas, daughter of Alferd and Bessie Byrd Newhouse. She and Karl K. Neugebauer were married Nov. 15, 1945.
She attended school in Cashe, Okla., and graduated from high school there.
She loved growing flowers, quilting and writing family history. With the help of her sisters, Margie and Ann, she compiled a cookbook for the Newhouse and Neugebauer families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Karl; a sister, Wanda Walker; and a brother, Bill Newhouse.
Survivors include a daughter, Darla Belcher of Licking; two sons, Jack “J.D.” Neugebauer of Salem and Steve Neugebauer of Rolla; a brother, Arlis Newhouse of Oklahoma; three sisters, Ann Walker of Michigan, Margie Anderson of Oregon and Glenis Schlumbohm of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, at Evans Funeral Home with John Platte and Domenic Enrietta officiating. Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ashley Creek Cemetery.
