The public will get its first glimpse of the 2012 Houston High School baseball team March 10 at the annual 50-inning game.

The team will begin scrimmaging at 9 a.m. Concessions will be available.

During the scrimmage, work crews will be mowing, painting and cleaning the facilities. Anyone available to assist should come to the field that day, assistant coach Ryan Munson said.

Members of the team are seeking financial assistance for the scrimmage through donations sheets. Munson said funds raised will go toward the purchase of turfis for the infield and the future construction of bathrooms at the field.

“There are always needs for maintenance and improvements to and around the baseball field,” Munson said. “Without help from the community, many of these things would not be possible. We have one of the top facilities in the area thanks to all the years of great support. We would like to say ‘thank you,’ and thank you for the continued support.”
