The Houston High School guidance counselor is leaving her job. A resignation was accepted last week. 

The Houston board of education accepted the resignation of high school guidance counselor Amber Stephens during a closed session of last Monday’s meeting.

Stephen’s resignation was accepted with a 6-0 vote, according to the minutes.

During the same closed session, the board hired Jeremie Akins as middle school principal, set his salary and approved moving expenses.
