Bryce Floyd Hayes, 76, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at his lake home in Sunrise Beach.
He was born June 4, 1935, in Licking. He and Barbara O’Grady were married Sept. 26, 1956, in Great Bend, Kan. He and Carol Wagner were married March 28, 1983, in Wichita, Kan.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing tournaments at the pond, trap shooting in the pasture, opening Christmas presents and spending time at the lake house.
He began working at the family business, Hayes Well Service, as a young man. He moved to Attica, Kan., in 1957.
He was a member of the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association, St. Patrick Catholic Church, Harper of the St. Joan of Arc Parish Community, Knights of Columbus and Association of Oil Well Servicing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Norman Hayes; and two sisters, Doris Smith and Selma Martin.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Carol Hayes of the home in Attica, Kan.; four children, Sharon Niemann of Goddard, Kan., Sandra Arnett of Pratt, Kan., Susan LaPlant of Wichita, Kan., and Shayne Hayes of Attica, Kan.; two stepchildren, Tamara David of Dodge City, Kan., Bryant Phye of Overland, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
