Chandler Chase Bosworth, 80, of Springfield, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Mercy Hospital.

He was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Swansea, Mass., son of George Henry and Ethyl Mae Chase. He and LouElla Roderick were married Nov. 10, 1951.

He was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colo., while serving in the Air Force. He was a mechanical draftsman for most of his working years.

He enjoyed family camping and travel, fishing, art, traveling in a RV and motorcycling. He and his wife traveled most of the United States.

He retired in 1999 and moved to Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, LouElla; two sisters, Madelyn Bussey and Dorothy Ahl; and a brother, George Bosworth, Jr.

Survivors include his son, Mark Bosworth; two daughters, Karyn “Sue” Myers and Brooke Blue; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were Wednesday, April 23, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield. Memorial services are 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church in Upton with Pastor David Roderick officiating. Visitation is 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church. Inurnment will be in Hickory Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
