Clara Lucille Smith, 68, of Raymondville, died Friday, April 27, 2012, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 17, 1944, in Kimble, daughter of Sidney Hanson Gale and Nancy Morgan and Nancy Louise Maybearry Gale Morgan. She and James Albert Smith were married Feb. 7, 1962.

She loved her garden, flowers and pets. She enjoyed being around and helping others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jackie Gale; two sisters, Carol Marie Teague and Leota Gale; and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, James of Raymondville; seven children, Nancy Cornelison of Licking, Sharon Labbee of Hartshorn, Donna Smith and Stanley Smith of Raymondville and James Smith Jr., Billy Smith and Carrie Smith of Houston; five sisters, Nelda Gann of Licking, Ivy Mefford of Shelbina, Fernie Sweeney of Shelbina and Elizabeth Morgan and Mary Morgan of Palmyra; three brothers, Ray Gale of Shelbina, Norman Gale of Bethel and George Gale of Clearance; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were Monday, April 30, at Bradford Funeral Home with Brother Pete Wilson officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.
