John Lewis

A former Houston city administrator has died.

A family member told the Herald on Monday that John Lewis, who served from 1991-1997, died. The body was donated for scientific research.

Mr. Lewis left the Houston post to become the city administrator at Hollister, a newly created post. He was about 80 years of age.

Before coming to Houston, Mr. Lewis was the city administrator at Macon.

A celebration of Life Ceremony will be scheduled. Schedule and location will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in his name to the Wounded Warrior program.
