Work is slated to begin Monday, April 16, on a major improvement to Houston’s downtown business district: Repaving of Grand Avenue.

City Administrator Larry Sutton said the project also includes grinding the pavement so the repavement can proceed without any issues. Some sections of Grand Avenue will require closing — and workmen won’t close the entire roadway down, but rather target stretches. Patrons will need to use side streets and nearby parking lots.

“It will be a short inconvenience, but it will be worth it in the long run,” said Sutton.

Grand Avenue is among several that are slated for repaving in the city. MoDOT will pave Highway F that runs from Grand Avenue to U.S. 63.
