Kathryn (Stenger) Elmore, 59, was the daughter of John H. Stenger and Audrey Richards. She was born on Sept. 7, 1952, in Houston, Mo. She passed away at her home in Roby, Mo., on April 13, 2012.

She is survived by her husband, Donald of Roby, Mo.; her father, John H. Stenger of Houston, Mo.; three children, Anita Rogers and husband, Gene, of Success, Mo., Dustin Hathaway of Houston, Mo., and Landon Elmore of Roby, Mo.; four siblings, Fred Stenger and wife, Doris, of Houston, Mo., John L. Stenger and wife, Shelly, of Houston, Mo., Donna Story of Houston, Mo., and Carl Stenger and Patty of Waynesville, Mo.; three grandchildren, Dinah Brown, Kayla Rogers and Samuel Rogers, all of Success, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Kathryn grew up in the Roby, Mo., area. She attended Plato School and graduated in 1971.
She married her husband Donald Elmore on Jan. 11, 1986, and to this union one son, Landon, was born.
Kathryn rededicated her life to Christ in 2011. She attended the Roby Assembly of God Church when her health allowed.
Kathryn loved to be outside in the fresh air. She loved to work in her garden when she was able. She used to sit outside of an evening during spring and summer so she could enjoy all of nature’s fragrant flowers.
Kathryn was a homemaker all of her adult life. She chose to be a homemaker so she could spend as much time as she possibly could with her children as they were growing up and later with her grandchildren. She absolutely loved and adored her family.
Kathryn was an all around wonderful person; wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
To those who knew Kathy, you are truly blessed. Those who didn’t never had the chance to meet a kind, gentle, caring, loving lady. Kathy treated me and my brothers like we were her own. I love you Kathy and you will always be a wonderful step-mom to me and my brothers. Please keep looking after us all as you have done for many years. Please keep that ear to ear smile! Services were 3 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at Roby Assembly of God Church with Pastors Bob Troutt and Carolyn Campbell officiating. Pallbearers were Gene Rogers, Harold Richards, Chris Christenson, Jonathan Stenger, Scottie Grimm and Eugene Elmore. Burial was in Pilot Knob Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
