Ruth Wuertley Foulk, 97, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Mercy Hospital.
She was born Nov. 9, 1914, daughter of David and Alice Foulk.
She completed her nursing education at Kewanne Public Hospital in Kankaee, Ill., and worked as a registered nurse in Arizona and Illinois prior to her marriage in 1941. Prior to attending nursing school, she taught in the local rural schools.
She enjoyed reading, quilting and gardening. She attended Bethel Community Church for many years and was an avid supporter of the Summersville Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; a son, Marshall; and two grandsons.
Survivors include four children, Donald Wuertley, Charles Wuertley, Muriel Shriver and Charlotte Andervich; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, March 31, at Bethel Church with the Rev. Steve Steelman officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at bradfordfuneralhome.net.
