Thelma Doshia Beasley Bailie, 96, died Tuesday, April 2, 2012, at Licking Park Manor.
She was born Aug. 17, 1915, in Raymondville, daughter of Eli and Annie Cordelia Troutman Beasley. She married George Van Deusen. She later married Roy Bailie.
She worked in St. Louis at a small arms plant during World War II. In later years, she worked for Rawlings Manufacturing in Licking. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Licking and was active as long as her health permitted.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had great fun with the Red Hat Society. She was known for making pies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Bailie; a son, Leon Bailey; three brothers, Roscoe Beasley, Milo Beasley and Raymond Beasley.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Umfleet and Sandy Floyd of Licking; two sons, Larry Van Deusen of Licking and Dennis Bailie of Mountain View, Ark.; a sister, Fern Chamberlain of Licking; step-daughters, Opal Beasley of St. Peters and Bobbie Krewson of Licking; 17 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were Saturday, April 7, at First Baptist Church in Licking with Pastor Rob Lilly and Chaplain Roger Flint officiating. Burial was in Williams Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
