A Licking man and woman, both 28, and a 53-year-old Bucyrus man face charges for their roles in the theft of scrap metal and lengths of telephone pole from a Highway Z property at Houston.
The Texas County Sheriff’s Department began an investigation after a 28-year-old man who watches over the property for its owner reported on March 20 that he had witnessed the two male suspects swiping the goods and fleeing in a 1980s model Chevrolet pickup.
Officers located the metal at a Licking scrap metal yard on March 22 and surveillance video from the business showed the two men and the woman selling the items.
The men were arrested March 25. The woman admitted her involvement when interviewed by an officer on March 27.
Probable cause statements on all three suspects have been sent to the Texas County prosecuting attorney. No names were released pending charges.
